What's New Wednesdays - May 18

WNW

What is up gaming world?! Coming at you again with another of our weekly articles, “What’s New Wednesdays.” As previously stated, this is our weekly round up of what we picked up in stores and online this week. So let’s see what we got this week!

Witcher_3_cover_artFirst up, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Both myself and Liz picked this up as we’ve both been  wanting to play this for a long time and seeing as we found it quite cheap (€25) we couldn’t say no. The Witcher 3 received positive reviews upon it’s release, with most reviewers giving it a 9/10. I am yet to begin what will no doubt be an epic journey through the northern Kingdoms, but Liz has already been playing this for a day and can’t seem to put it down! This game also featured in our “Weekly Deals” article from last week, so maybe some of you guys read that and picked it up too?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt concludes the story of the witcher Geralt of Rivia, whose story to date has been covered in the previous titles. Continuing from The Witcher 2, Geralt seeks to move on with his own life, embarking on a new and personal mission while the world order itself is coming to a change. The game features several locations such as the Free City of Novigrad, the swamps of Velen, the Skellige Isles, and two of the Nilfgaardian Empire’s territories: the village of White Orchard and the Royal Palace in Vizima. The witcher school Kaer Morhen, known in the books and the first The Witcher game, also appears.

lego jurassicWhats this? A gift you say?? That’s right! And it’s none other than LEGO: Jurassic World. Liz was kind enough to buy this for me this week. And I can’t wait to play it. I’ve always been a fan of LEGO games (just check out my platinum list, there’s some on there) and who doesn’t like Jurassic World?! Exactly! No doubt I will spend some time playing this, I may even stream it as I do a “Road to Platinum.” Keep an eye out for that.

The game follows the storylines from the Jurassic Park films: Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World. However, the developers modified the storylines to fit the events into five levels per film. Notable scenes from each film have been recreated in the game. Some characters, such as Nedry and Ludlow, have had their movie voices replaced with new voices- for example, veteran voice actor Liam O’Brien replaced Arliss Howard as Ludlow’s voice. An additional scene in the game depicts Dr. Grant excavating a Keystone relic, teasing the plot of Lego Dimensions.

pro evoNext up is UEFA Euro 2016, which is a stand alone version of Pro Evolution Soccer 16 that was released to coincide with the European Championships that are on this summer. I found this for a nice price of €23 so with it being that cheap, I had to check it out. Pro Evolution Soccer was always my go to game on the PlayStation 2 but I have fallen out of love with it over the past few years. Maybe this one will be different, we will have to wait and see. If you happen to own Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 you can also download this as a free DLC.

So that’s our weekly round up of “What’s New Wednesdays.” Did you guys pick up anything new this week? If so, what? As always let us know in the comments.
