Skylanders Imaginators Announced - Details

It has been confirmed today by Activision that the next title in the Skylanders series of games will be called Skylanders Imaginators. And we have a release date! This Skylanders game is a bit different to the others though. Now, people can bring their own creations to life!

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has said "Since we launched the very first Skylanders game, we have received countless letters and drawings from kids all over the world sharing their vision for their own Skylanders. No matter how in touch with our 'inner kids' we might think we are as adults, nothing comes close to the endless creativity that springs from the mind of an inspired kid. We've turned this year's game into the ultimate blank canvas for kids' imaginations so they can create and play their own Skylanders."

According to Activison, this game will be their "wildest yet". Players will be able to create the appearance, pick abilities and powers, choose a name, pick a catchphrase and even select a theme song for their character! In this game, Kaos is on another mission to take our Skylands. You can use your own Skylander creation which are called Imaginators by using the new toy type called the Creation Crystal. The Creation Crystal will allow you to transport any of your Imaginators to any console.

As well as all of that, the new game will bring in 31 brand new heroes, which will each represent a Battle Class, some of which are Brawler, Sorcerer and Knight. These heroes will help train your own Imaginators, get to access to new locations within the game and new weapons, and even new techniques.

Skylanders Imaginators will be available in the UK and Europe on October 14th and North America on October 16th. The game will be playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. If you purchase the Skylander Imaginators Starter Pack you will receive the game, a Creation Crystal, two new Skylander characters and a Portal of Power.
